Kilowatt-peak (kWp)

kW ist the abbreviation for kW, p for peak indicates the nominal power under standard test conditions (STC). These conditions are standardized and therefore are suitable for a direct comparison of the electric power of different solar modules. The standardized radiation intensity of 1'000 Watt per square meter corresponds approximately to that of the sun on a sunny summer noon in the temperate zone, provided that the module is optimally oriented towards the sun.
